2027 and an honest look at my presence

Hey there Reader,

Every morning starts the same way for me: after I walk Hashtag I start brewing coffee (unless Drew beats me to it). I fill the bottom of the moka pot with water, scoop about 3 tablespoons of coffee into the basket, set the heat on about 5 on the stove and wait to hear that wonderful bubbling sound.

I never rush it. A good cup of coffee needs the right beans, the right grind, and the right pour, in that order. Skip a step and you can taste it.

I’ve been thinking about how rarely we give our online presence that same patience. The rules out there say post every day, chase the algorithm, and measure yourself in likes. So we pour before we’ve ground anything, and then wonder why it doesn’t taste like us.

This is the time of year I start thinking about 2027, so I took an honest look at my own presence. After over 15 years of helping organizations and leaders get seen for the work they’re already doing, I can see my presence isn’t as aligned as it should be for my next set of goals.

So I’m fine-tuning it, starting with getting clear before I post, and I’m going to show you how I do it as I go. More on that Friday. I invite you to follow along and even do it with me!

Your first step can be small, and it doesn’t have to be a post. Leave one thoughtful comment on a post from someone you’d love to know, and you’ve shown up where the right people already are.

What rituals do you take your time with? ☕
